Cancellation Policies

Flexible - Full refund 1 day prior to event

  • Must be made a full 24 hours prior to 12:00 AM local time on the day of the event. As an example, if the event is on Friday, cancel by the previous Wednesday at midnight.
  • If the guest cancels on the event date, the chef receives 25% of the total fee.
  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to Kitchensurfing within six hours on the midnight of the event.
  • Kitchensurfing will mediate when necessary, and has the final say in all disputes.
  • A reservation is not officially canceled until the guest receives a cancellation confirmation e-mail from Kitchensurfing. To get your cancellation e-mail, go to our Help Center. If the cancellation e-mail is not received, contact Kitchensurfing.

Moderate - Full refund 5 days prior to event, except fees

  • Must be made five full days prior to 12:00 AM local time on the day of the event. For example, if the event is on Friday, cancel by the previous Saturday at midnight.
  • If the guest cancels less than 5 days in advance, they will receive a 50% refund.
  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to Kitchensurfing within 24 hours of the event.
  • Kitchensurfing will mediate when necessary, and has the final say in all disputes.
  • A reservation is not officially canceled until the guest receives a cancellation confirmation e-mail from Kitchensurfing. To get your cancellation e-mail, go to our Help Center. If the cancellation e-mail is not received, contact Kitchensurfing.

Strict - 50% refund up until 1 week prior to event, except fees

  • Must be made seven full days prior to 12:00 AM local time on the day of the event, otherwise no refund. For example, if check-in is on Friday, cancel by the previous Thursday at midnight.
  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to Kitchensurfing within 24 hours of the event.
  • Kitchensurfing will mediate when necessary, and has the final say in all disputes.
  • A reservation is not officially canceled until the guest receives a cancellation confirmation e-mail from Kitchensurfing. To get your cancellation e-mail, go to our Help Center. If the cancellation e-mail is not received, contact Kitchensurfing.

Super Strict - 50% refund up until 30 days prior to event, except fees

  • Super Strict refunds are available to chef's and venues by invitation only.
  • Must be made 30 full days prior to 12:00 AM local time on the day of the event.
  • If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to Kitchensurfing within 24 hours of check-in.
  • Kitchensurfing will mediate when necessary, and has the final say in all disputes.
