My Cooking Style

Farm-to-table, quick, flavorful and nutritious meals that pack quite the punch. Worldly cuisine influences that fuse spices from my native Uganda, in East Africa and surrounding countries with seasonal ingredients.

My Culinary Experience

I used to work with computers all day long and I'd daydream about cooking. My go-to stress reliever has always been creating nutritious meals that do not sacrifice in taste.

For the past decade, I've cooked in my mama's kitchen, my own, and at friend's places. Since October 2012, I have been teaching a bi-weekly demonstrative cooking class at The Olivia, a residential building in Midtown Manhattan.

I gained my education from the countless Food and Nutrition books I've pored over, my Food Network/Cooking Channel addiction, and hands-on experience. I cook every day and if I could, I'd probably cook in my sleep as well. Let me bring my passion for cooking in your home.

Henrietta is such an amazing person with whom to work on an event. We hired Henrietta to cook 20 person dinner party for our wedding in New York on New Year's Eve. Henrietta came up with a nice selection of menu's and was able to modify to our tastes and dietary needs. She even took the train down to Philadelphia to do a tasting for us! On the day of the big event the oven in the rental loft was not working properly, but Henrietta persevered, making the best of a difficult scenario. The food itself was delicious, and well presented. Henrietta is an awesome chef and even better person. I am happy to have met her (and her assistant/sister) and would absolutely use Henrietta again. Thank you Henrietta for helping to make the happiest day of my life come true!

Preparing for a trip to India, my travel mate and I managed to rally 3 busy NYC friends who had been before to meet with us over dinner and discuss everything India. I thought an in home dining experience would be better than a public booth or table for taking notes but I don't cook and have a busy schedule. Henrietta and I explored the last minute possibilities and unbelievably, in a day, she pulled together a miracle menu that catered to our group with varied tastes and food requests: ruffled mashed potatoes, brussels w/blistered cherry tomatos and rosemary chicken. The starter was a light green leaf salad with grapes and goat cheese. She brought the ingredients and prepared and served our feast with tip top efficiency and hospitality as we discussed travel tips. Much more thoughtful than a bottle or bouquet, I was delighted to offer our savvy travelers a culinary delight enjoyed by all as a thanks for taking time from their busy schedules during the week. Thank you Henrietta. We look forward to more good times and great food from your limitless kitchen of ideas.

Henrietta is an extremely versatile chef, bringing all essentials with her, she is able to cook in any kitchen and create a magnificent three course dinner party leaving hosts time to attend to guests.
