The story of this amazing restaurant started in 1975 where “Let’s Play Restaurant” became their service mantra. In 1983, Norman Brinker purchased Chili’s, which the restaurant said was an offer they could not refuse. Fajitas were welcomed to its menu in 1984.
They introduced their legendary ribs in 1986. In 2002, it was a time for the restaurant to give back to the community. They raised $14,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during its first year with their Create-A-Pepper campaign.
Their margarita sales were number one in the United States in the year 1994. In 2013, more money were raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital via the Create-A-Pepper campaign. In 2015, Chili’s became viral on social media, particular it’s “Hi, Welcome to Chili’s” campaign.
In 2018, Brinker starts the Women Taking the Lead initiative inviting men and women to have an ongoing dialogue on the impact of women leading the company. Today, they are inviting everybody to take part in writing the next chapters in their story.
