The Cuisinart CBK-100 2 LB Bread Maker has been in production for a little over 7 years now. In fact, Cuisinart recently released a newer version, the Cuisinart CBK-200. The newer version commands a higher price tag and has features that you may not need.

The Cuisinart CBK-100 has a lot of the features that we look for when we’re doing our bread machine reviews. Specifically, we love when ease-of-use is prioritized by the manufacturer. After all, that’s why people are using these machines – because they’re supposed to make our lives easier!

The 12 pre-programmed options are all very self-explanatory and range from bread to dough to pasta to jam. It’s a very versatile machine.
The 3 crust settings also make life easier. Simply choose between light, medium, and dark! How great is that!
Now we’re going to go into some of the things we loved the most about the CBK-100.
Things we loved
We loved how easy this machine was to use. Operating the CBK-100 is very simple: put your ingredients in the non-stick bread pan, put the pan in the machine, choose your setting from the programmable options, pick your crust color, and hit start!
Within a couple of hours, at the most, you’re going to have a delicious product! In fact, we can confidently say that every time you use the Cuisinart CBK-100 you’re going to get a delicious product. The consistency of the CBK-100 is something that we never have seen in this price range. Typically, we’d have to spend $200+ on a bread machine to get the same results each time. That is not the case with the CBK-100, as it retails for far less than that.
The gluten-free setting on the CBK-100 works! We made great gluten-free bread. This has been a challenge for most bread machines due to the different ingredients required, but the CBK-100 handles it without a problem.

We see these settings quite frequently when we’re doing bread machine reviews. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t something special about them on the Cuisinart CBK-100. The CBK-100’s settings were reliable and did exactly what they’re meant to do. It’s one thing to have the settings available on the machine; it’s another for them to work. They work on the CBK-100.
There’s a lot to love about the Cuisinart CBK-100, and not a lot to dislike. But there were a couple of things that could be improved on…
Some minor annoyances
We really missed having a fruit/nut dispenser. We’ve become very accustomed to bread machines having a fruit/nut dispenser, that we were at a bit of a loss without it. Of course, we used a recipe that called for placing the fruit/nuts into the bread dough immediately and had no problem. But that resulting bread doesn’t taste as good as when the fruit/nuts are dispensed at the proper time during the baking cycle.
The manual and recipe booklet aren’t the best we’ve seen. This is something that we see across Cuisinart products – their manuals usually suck. That’s the case with the CBK-100. Luckily this is a very popular bread machine and you can easily find help online, or through Cuisinart’s 1-800 number. The recipe book is nothing special.

The verdict
The Cuisinart CBK-100 is a great bread machine that will last you for years. If you want to reliably make delicious bread, then this is the machine for you.
With a very reasonable price tag, you’re really getting a lot with the CBK-100. There’s a lot to love, and if you don’t care about a fruit/nut dispenser, then there aren’t many disadvantages.
