Autumn is here and that means falling leaves, scarves and sweaters, and something warm to sip by the fire. Of course you could go for the old standbys like coffee, tea, or hot cocoa, but why not have some fun and sip on some warm, delicious cocktails? Leave the hot cocoa powder for the kids and try these recipes:
Hot Buttered Rum
- 2.0oz Dark Rum
- 1 tsp Brown Sugar
- 1 Pat of Butter
- Fresh Nutmeg
- Boiling Water to fill
Put sugar into mug and fill two-thirds with boiling water. Add rum and stir. Float the pat of butter and sprinkle with nutmeg.
Hot Toddy
- 3.0oz Bourbon
- 1.0oz Sugar Syrup
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 3 Cloves
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- Boiling Water to fill
Put bourbon into mug with lemon juice, cloves, and sugar syrup. Fill with boiling water and stir with cinnamon stick.
Irish Coffee
- 3.0oz Strong Brewed Coffee
- 2.0oz Irish Whiskey
- 1 tsp Brown Sugar
- Whip Cream
Put all ingredients into a mug. Stir until sugar is dissolved and top with whip cream. If you have leftover coffee, store it in your coffee urn.
Apple Tree
- 1.0oz Spiced Dark Rum
- 1.0oz Sour Apple Pucker
- Apple Cider to fill
Put rum and sour apple pucker in mug. Fill with apple cider.
Oatmeal Cookie
- 1.0oz Bailey’s Irish Cream
- 1.0oz Butterscotch Schnapps
- 1.0oz Cinnamon Schnapps
- Hot Chocolate to fill
- Whip Cream
Put Irish cream and schnapps in mug. Fill with hot chocolate and top with whip cream.
