Toppings for the Cranberry-Nut Winter Cake:

There are two delicious toppings you can use for the Cranberry-Nut Winter Cake; a Bourbon Whipping Cream or a Nutmeg Whipping Cream. Both flavors mesh beautifully with the ingredients found in the cake!

Bourbon Whipping Cream

  • 2 cups heaving whipping cream
  • 4 tablespoons white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons bourbon

Use an electric mixer to whip the cream until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in the sugar a little at a time, making sure to keep the original consistency of the whipping cream. Once the sugar is combined with the cream gently fold the bourbon in. Keep cold until you are ready to serve!

Nutmeg Whipping Cream

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 4 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Beat all ingredients at once until soft peaks form.

To serve, simply place individual slices of the Cranberry-Nut Winter Cake on a dessert plate. Place a dollop or two of the whipped cream flavor of your choice on top. A sprinkle of cinnamon on top is the perfect finishing touch. All that’s left is to sit back and enjoy your Cranberry-Nut Winter Cake!
