Church’s Chicken History
In 1952, along the street from The Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, a man named George W. Church launched the first Church’s Fried Chicken To-Go, its former name. This includes unveiling Churchie, the loveable mascot as its symbol with the jalapeño pepper on the side, plus the founder’s can-do attitude, along with the hand-crafted flavors and crispy goodness of the food. Church’s Chicken came to be.
Right at this very day, Church’s Chicken has served over one billion, and now spans worldwide with franchises open for business in several locations. Along the way, they have had rebranded several times too, experimented with various campaigns, and changed leaders, but their commitment to authentic down home flavor stays the same.
